Two killed in double explosions in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU:  Two people were killed and more than five others were injured in two separate bomb explosions that took place on Friday night in Mogadishu and it’s outskirts.

The first attack, which was a landmine explosion, targeted a vehicle carrying Somali soldiers in Dharkenley district.

The second explosion took place near the Barbado camp, in a busy restaurant.

According to police reports, at least two people were killed and more than five others were wounded in the two attacks.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but Al-Shabaab are synonymous with such attacks inside and outside Mogadishu which have resulted in deaths and injuries of scores of people.

The Friday attacks occurred one day after President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud was inaugurated.
