Two killed in mortar bomb targeting UN compound in Mogadishu
At least two people were killed and five others injured in a mortar shell attack targeting the Halane base camp which houses the UN and African Union in Mogadishu.
Sources in the area told Goobjoog News one of the mortar shells hit a house near the camp killing two family members and injuring five others. It was not immediately clear if some of the shells hit the UN compound.
Today’s attack comes barely two weeks after at least five mortar shells hit the Halane area destroying offices and facilities within the compound.
The militant group claimed responsibility for the attacks.
