Two people killed in Las-anod airport, Somaliland over khat tax
At least two people have been killed following a clash between airport security and militias affiliated to khat traders in Las-anod airport, in Somaliland.
Sources have told Goobjoog News the incident happened after the khat traders allegedly refused to submit taxes levied on the leafy substance leading to a brawl which caused the death of two people some ten kilometres out of Sool town.
There were no immediate response from airport authorities regarding the casualties.
Lasa-hanood is the administrative capital of Sool.
