Two soldiers killed in fighting between SNA and Al-Shabab in Lower Shabelle
Two Somali soldiers have been killed in firefight at Tihsiile village which is located in the outskirt of Warmahan town in Lower Shabelle region.
The fighting broke out after Al-Shabaab fighters attacked a military base manned by troops of Somali National Army prompting hours of fighting.
According to residents the fighting lasted for hours and there was heavy gunfire exchange.
“Al-Shabaab attacked SNA military base in our village, and the fighting between the two sides was very fierce; now everything become normal,” local villager, Mohamed Osman, Adding, “Two soldiers were killed and two others were also wounded.”
Most of the residents fled their homes after the attack took place on Saturday night, another resident said.
Meanwhile, Al-Shabaab claims to have killed many soldiers and briefly took control of the village.
