Ugaas Khaliif Airport Resumes Operation
Administration of Baladwein has confirmed that normal operations at the Ugaas Khaliif Airport has now resumed.
A well organized opening ceremony held at the airport was attended Hiraan administration officials, commanders of Djibouti contingent under AMISOM and members of civil society.
Baladwein mayor, Omar Baadiyow speaking at the ceremony noted that It has one runway designated with a crushed rock and packed sand surface and it is temporary airport therefore landing and taking off becomes difficulty for planes during rainy seasons.
The function of the airport was interrupted by heavy downpour experienced in Somali central regions for last two months.
Finally, Omar urged the federal government, traders, International NGOs to give hand of support to administration to expand the airport.
