Uganda plans police officers to deploy Somalia
Plans are underway to deploy police officers in Somalia to help and build the capacity of the Somali police force. Mr Grace Turyagumanawe Assistant Inspector General Police, particularly those who support peace visit to Mogadishu to assess the activities of the police department in the safety of 160 police officers in Somalia has plans to continue delivery of police officers in the Horn of Africa.
The news was released from the AMISOM peacekeeping mission yesterday according to Mr Grace Turyagumanawe, Uganda.
“Preparations are underway to deploy a second batch of police officers to Somalia as agreed recently. We are working to get the necessary supplies, ”said Mr Grace Turyagumanawe.
Police officers in the country’s recent placement in the ranks of the police forces in Somalia, especially in Uganda 300 police officers and soldiers.
The extension of these police officers under the AMISOM Police Force will ensure that the Somali Police Force has sufficient capacity to take over the control of law and order “AMISOM will be back in 2021,” said a statement from AMISOM.
