UN confirms second coronavirus-infected UN employee in Somalia

UN agency in Somalia has declared the second coronavirus-infected UN worker in Somalia, according to the UNSOM Office in Mogadishu. An employee who works for a company under a UN contract that operates inside Mogadishu’s Aden Adde International Airport tested positive for COVID 19.
According to a report by the UNSOM, the person was isolated in mid-March after his arrival and taken to the quarantine area at the contractor’s facilities at AAIA.
UN statement comes after Minister of Health; Fawziya Abikar announced another two more coronavirus cases on Friday last week leaving the total number of cases in Somalia to 7 patients.
