UN envoy applauds federal government and Puntland agreements
The special representative of United nations secretary general for Somalia Nicholas Kay welcomed the agreement reached between the federal government of Somalia and the regional state of Puntland.
Kay who was witnessed the signing of the agreement in Garowe, the administrative capital of Puntland described the accord as a national interest urging the sides to work towards the development of the country.
Addressing the event UN envoy to Somalia Nicholas Kay expressed delight with the outcome of three-day talks and urged the two parties to work for the common good and general interest.
“I am happy with the agreement, I remain confident about what has happened and more importantly the good thing is that both sides showed off effort to reach consensus,” said UN envoy.
Kay noted that state-building process appears to be gaining drive and called the Federal parliament to form ection commission ahead of 2016 elections.
