UNSC to discuss Wednesday the situation in Somalia

GOOBJOOG NEWS|NEW YORK: A special meeting of the UN Security Council will be held today, Wednesday, to discuss the situation in Somalia, which is now experiencing a severe drought and a deteriorating security situation that is threatening to destabilize the country.

According to a statement released by the United Nations Office in Somalia, James Swan, the special representative of the UN Secretary General in Somalia, will be among those who will present a report to the Security Council meeting.

The meeting will also discuss several topics that will adequately cover the situation in the country, and will be aired live at 5:00 pm, Mogadishu time.
