UPDATE: 10 People Among Them Military Officials Killed in Beletweyne Bomb Attacks

GOOBJOOG NEWS|BELETWEYNE: Ten people have been confirmed dead in multiple bomb attacks in Beletweyne in central Somalia.
According to security sources in the town, among the dead were military officials, local leaders, and clan elders. Security forces managed to end the fighting inside the house where the attack took place.
The five Al-Shabaab militants who carried out the attack were neutralised by government forces. The injured were taken to various hospitals in Beletwyene town.
The militants are reported to have first detonated two bombs at intervals in the entrance of the house where government officials, military personnel, and local leaders were meeting. Some of the fighters then made their way into the building, where they engaged the occupants in gunfire exchange.

The leaders were meeting to plan an expected offensive against Al-Shabaab in the HirShabelle state.
