UPDATE: Ministry of health confirms 70 new cases

The ministry of health announced the highest number of COVID 19 new cases in forty-eight hours at Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.

According to the ministers of health, Fawzia abikar has confirmed 70 new COVID-19 cases in the last 48 hours with 67 cases in Benadir region and three in Somaliland leaving the total number of cases to 671.

Mayor of Mogadishu Omar Mohamud Mohamed (Omar Filish), speaking at a Covid-19 awareness event in Mogadishu said on last Friday Banadir region authorities has registered 500 deaths for the past 12 days in Mogadishu.

The mayor also stated that the maximum number they registered in a day was 43 people while the lowest number was 22 people.
