Varsity staffer killed, another injured in IED attack in Mogadishu
A staffer from SIMAD University has succumbed to injuries following an IED attack in Hodan district in Mogadishu while the second victim is undergoing treatment in a city hospital.
Medical sources told Goobjoog News the driver of the ill-fated vehicle who had sustained fatal injuries died as emergency teams moved him to hospital. He was identified as Mohamed Jaylani.
The two were driving along Black Sea area in Hodan district when their vehicle hit an improvised explosive device (IED) which blew up the car.
It was not immediately clear if the university vehicle was the target of the attack which comes barely four days after five multiple bombings in the city which claimed at least 20 lives.
