Vehicle Transporting Khat Blows up in Suspected IED Attack in Barawe

GOOBJOOG NEWS|BARAWE: A vehicle carrying khat was reportedly hit by a landmine as it entered Barawe town in the Lower Shabelle region Saturday morning.

Sources in the city said they heard a loud explosion amid reports that the Toyota NOAH model car was targeted by an explosion. It was not immediately clear if there were any casualties.

Flames and smoke could be seen from the distance, according to eyewitnesses.
