Voters Queue in Puntland to Elect Officials in Three Districts

GOOBJOOG NEWS/PUNTLAND: Polls opened Tuesday morning in three districts in Puntland as voters cast their vote for the district council representatives.

Queues were seen forming from as early as 6am in polling stations in Garowe, Dangorayo and Godobjiran districts.

Elections in the three districts were in May 2023 in what electoral officials said was a result of security concerns.

Puntland Electoral Commission said on Sunday the exercise will be conducted in a free and fair manner.
