WHO to Support Somalia in Mitigating Effects of Floods
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The World Health Organization (WHO) has promised to collaborate with Somalia in responding to the humanitarian needs of people who have been affected by floods across the country.
On Wednesday, a delegation of WHO officials led by Ms. Erna Van Goor, Head of Health Relations met with officials from the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) in Mogadishu to discuss various areas of collaboration.
The officials stressed the need to maintain constant communication with people in affected areas so as to effectively coordinate humanitarian response.
The collaborative efforts between the WHO delegation and SoDMA aims to improve the overall response mechanism, ensuring that affected communities receive timely and accurate information about the impact of rains and floods on the population.
