You Have Made Us Proud, PM Barre Tells Soldiers in Jubaland Following Major Assault Against Al-Shabaab

GOOBJOOG NEWS/JUBALAND: Prime Minister Hamze Barre has lauded the victory by national and state forces which resulted in the killing of about 100 Al-Shabaab militants last week.

Speaking Buulo Haji area in the Lower Juba region where he met the Jubaland Dervish forces, the Prime Minister said the forces had done the country proud in ‘eliminating the enemy’.

He noted the victory by the forces demonstrated the government’s commitment in building the country’s security forces to enable them to protect the country.

“”You worshiped because you killed those whom the prophet commanded us to be killed and destroyed, you made the Muslims happy, you cut the Khawaarij which the Somali people hated,” the PM said.

He added that the Federal Government of Somalia is determined to liberate the country and eradicate the Al-Shabaab.

The joint Somali National Army and Jubaland state forces killed closed to 100 militants in Afmadow district last week in a fierce offensive.

During the visit, the PM also distributed food stuff to the residents of Buulo Haji.
