Jubbaland launches operations to bulldoze illegal buildings in Kismayo

The administration of Interim Jubbaland has today launched operations to demolish buildings along the main roads in the administrative capital, Kismayo.
Security forces were deployed in the areas where the bulldozers are demolishing several illegal buildings including shops, stalls, minimarkets, butchers and restaurants.
Kismayo district commissioner, Ibrahim Mohamed Tima-Jila’a said that the demolishing operations in the town are going smoothly.
“For the last 25 years, citizen have been constructing wherever they wish to have their houses, now the country has got government and no one will be allowed to break the law” he said.
He pointed out that the operations are intended to fight illegal building that has been increasing the recent months and restore the beauty of the city.
