30 hours on, fate of trapped man in Sanaag goldmine still unknown

GOOBJOOG NEWS|HARGEISA: Rescuers are racing against time to save a young man who is trapped in a gold mining pit in the Milho area of the Sanaag region, Somaliland.

According to reports, the 28-year-old young man named Mohamed Syed Ali has been trapped for almost 30 hours now, and rescuers are getting worried that unless quick intervention is taken, the chances of rescuing him alive might be slim. Although it is still unclear if he is still alive or not.

Rescue workers are said to have reached the bottom of the pit where the young man is, but efforts to remove him have proved futile as he is pinned under a huge rock and further digging might harm the rescuers.
