92% of Puntland Students Pass Grade 12 Examinations
GOOBJOOG NEWS|GAROWE: The Puntland Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced the results of this year’s Grade 12 certificate examinations, with 92% of candidates recording a pass.
According to figures released by the ministry, 8,923 students sat the examination, of whom 8,205 passed, while 718 students, representing 8% of the candidates, failed.
The ministry also said the results of 35 students were cancelled over examination-related violations.
Puntland administers its own Grade 12 certificate examinations through its regional education authorities, separate from the unified national secondary-school examinations conducted by Somalia’s Federal Ministry of Education. The region has maintained its own curriculum and examination system for years.
The results mean that more than nine out of every 10 candidates who sat Puntland’s Grade 12 examination this year attained a pass.
