A somali Man jailed two years for threatening police officers
Italy: A Somali man was today jailed for two years after admitting to threatening two police officers.
Abdifatah Abdi, 20, of Paola, threatened the two female officers and attempted to damage a police car by throwing stones at 10pm yesterday.
The incident took place when the two officers, from the vice squad, went to Marsa and came across Mr Abdi arguing with a prostitute. He then started arguing with the officers.
The man also pleaded guilty to disobeying police orders, breaching the peace and committing the crime while under a suspended sentence of one year.
Magistrate Ian Farrugia jailed him for two years and fined him €4,000.
Police Inspector Robert Vella prosecuted. Lawyer Yana Micallef Stafrace appeared as legal aid.
