Al-Shabaab publicly executes government soldier

GOOBJOOG NEWS/AFGOYE: Al-Shabaab has today executed a man publicly on the outskirts of Afgoye district claiming that he was a member of the Somali military, particularly the 7th Battalion of the 60th Division of the Somali National Army.
The man, identified as Farah Ahmed Omar, 43, was a resident of Warmahan area and is said to have been captured by members of the terror outfit as he was walking between Warmahan and Walanweyn districts.
Al-Shabaab carried out the execution after it accused the elderly man of being a member of the Somali government forces.
The recent live execution of the 43-year-old soldier is one among several that the group has carried out against civilians and Somali government forces for supporting the government and acting contrary to their ideologies.
