AMISOM fires its spokesman

African Union mission( AMISOM) in Somalia fired the spokesman Ali Adan Humud after the two days attack in AMISOM’s main base, Halane in Mogadishu.

A statement from AMISOM says “The Africa Union Mission in Somalia would like to clarify that Colonel Ali Aden Houmed is not a spokesperson for AMISOM”.

“AMISOM therefore disassociates itself from any statements issued by Colonel Ali Aden Houmed and further advises that such statements be regarded as his own personal view and at no time should they be seenas AMISOM’s position”

The reason behind the firing of the former spokesman is not clearly known but sources confirm that he spoke to local media outlets as he was not authorized during the attack of Halane base in Mogadishu.
