At least 50 people hospitalized after diarrhea outbreak in Balcad district

At least 50 people mostly children were hospitalized after diarrhea outbreak in Balcad district and nearby areas in middle Shabelle region as the administration confirmed.

The district commissioner of Balcad Mohamud Mohamed Mohamud told Goobjoog FM that every 24 hours many patients reach the hospitals in the district but the hospital is not treat due to acute shortage of medicine.

The administration of Balcad states that the number of people suffering from the disease is increasing day after day claiming that the people in the region have fear that the disease might spread to new areas in the region if immediate is not taken.

He called the federal government of Somalia and international aid agencies to deliver emergency relief to the hospital so as to save the lives of the children.
