Auto rickshaw operator shot dead by government soldier

GOOBJOOG/MOGADISHU: An auto rickshaw operator was shot dead yesterday afternoon by a government soldier in the Somali capital, Mogadishu. 

Source said the victim identified as Daud Adar Elmi, was shot dead by a government soldier at the intersection of Jalle Siyaad area on Warshadaha Road, Mogadishu in broad daylight.

The auto-rickshaw operator, who lived in the Radeelka neighbourhood of Daynile district is said to have been the breadwinner of his family and has left behind young children.

The motive behind the killing has not been immediately established. Auto-rickshaw operators have in the past been targeted by security officials in Mogadishu.
