Banadir Governor Attends Fund Raising Event for Needy Children in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Banadir Regional Governor and Mayor of Mogadishu Yusuf Hussein Jimale Sunday led a fundraising event in aid of needy children and rehabilitation of mama Ugaso rehabilitation center in Mogadishu.

The mayor lauded efforts by the rehabilitation center for addressing the needs of needy children in Mogadishu, most of whom had been affected by drugs, by giving them an opportunity to access education and mentorship through religion and sports.  

He further welcomed the move by the organization to open a new rehabilitation center, specifically designed for girls, and called on Somali businessmen and scholars to support the center so as to assist more needy children and orphans.

The Governor also announced that the government will donate funds to assist the center.

The event was also attended by other government officials including; Deputy Commissioner for Social Affairs Abdazis Osman Mohamed, Minister of State for the Ministry of Transport and Aviation MP Abdikarin Abdow Heydar, MP Yusuf Kabaale, the Chairman of the Somali Chamber of Commerce Mohamud Gabeyre, some of the District Governors of Banadir region, Directors, Heads of Bank Merchants’ Committees, Mogadishu Markets and other dignitaries.
