GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Banadir Regional Education Directorate has released the timetable for the 2025/2026 Grade 8 Certificate Examinations, with thousands of students across the region set to sit for the assessments beginning June 15.
According to the schedule, examinations will run for four consecutive days from June 15 to June 18. Education authorities said all preparations for the examinations have been completed, with strengthened measures put in place to ensure transparency, fairness and the integrity of the examination process.
The Directorate called on school administrators, teachers and parents to provide students with the support needed during the examination period, stressing the importance of creating a conducive environment that allows candidates to perform to the best of their abilities.
The Grade 8 examinations represent a key academic milestone for students transitioning to secondary education and form part of broader efforts to improve educational standards across the Banadir region.
The announcement comes as the Federal Government of Somalia continues to prioritize education sector reforms aimed at expanding access to quality learning and strengthening national assessment systems.
In recent years, authorities have increased efforts to standardize examinations, improve teacher training and enhance educational oversight as part of wider state-building and human capital development initiatives.
Officials expressed confidence that the examinations would be conducted smoothly and urged students to remain focused and adequately prepared ahead of the assessments.
With classrooms across Mogadishu and surrounding districts preparing for the examination period, education authorities say the successful administration of the tests will be another step toward strengthening confidence in Somalia’s growing education system and supporting the country’s next generation of learners.
