BREAKING: ‘Several’ Mortar Shells Hit UN, AU Compound in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG MOGADISHU: Several mortar shells landed around the Halane Base Camp which hosts the African Union forces headquarters, the UN and many other international agencies.

Sources said the at least three shells were heard in the area, but others may have landed on other parts of the camp.

There was no reports yet of casualties. Al-Shabaab has conducted mortar shell attacks at the Halane base in the past leading to fatalities and destruction of property.

There was no comment yet from the UN or other agencies in the area.
