Canadian government donates $5 Million to UNICEF Somalia
The government of Canada has donated $5 Million for United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to cover the humanitarian needs in Somalia according to Canadian officials.
International Development Minister of Canada Christian Paradis said the financial support will help pick up the health and the well-being of children, women and their families in Somalia.
Over 130,000 malnourished children and 2.2 million children in Somalia receive direct support from UNICEF.
The United Nations Children’s Fund is also attempting to improve access to water for 500,000 people and help 180,000 children receive quality education.
