Car bomb explosion hits security officer in Galkaayo
Reports from Galkaayo indicates a car fitted with an improvised explosive device (IED) blew up Saturday night in the northern part of the Mudug region.
The explosion was detonated in a car belonging to the Mudug regional security officer and exploded while traveling in the neighborhood of Galkayo.
The explosion caused injuries to the regional security officer Abdiaziz Farah Mohamed who was later on rushed to a medical center for emergency treatment.
Galmudug police went to the scene and conducted investigations on the explosion which led to a delay in the movement of people and vehicles for hours.
So far no one has claimed the responsibility for the explosion in Galkayo North of the Mudug region, but most of such explosions have been claimed by Al-Shabaab.
