Debt relief, security among top government priorities, PM Hamza says
GOOBJOOG NEWS | KISIMAYO: Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has said that the government is close to achieving debt relief and conclusion of the constitutional amendment.
Speaking when he met section of elders in Kisimayo Monday, the Prime Minister said that the Federal Government was pressing on with its offensive aimed at eliminating the Al-shabab from the country and that the second phase of the war will soon kick off.
He further challenged the people of Kisimayo to collaborate with government security forces and play a role in the fight against the militant group so as to restore peace and stability in Somalia.
He further stated that the government, together with international partners were ramping up efforts to assist people who have been adversely affected by floods in several parts of the country due to the ongoing rains.
The residents, comprising of civil society members on their part thanked the Federal Government for its efforts to restore peace and stability in Somalia by eradicating the threat posed by the Al-shabaab and also rebuilding the nation.
