Dekadaha Win General Daa’uud Basketball Tournament in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Dekadaha have won the General Daa’uud Basketball Tournament after defeating Heegan in a closely contested final at Wiish Stadium in Mogadishu.

The final attracted government officials, basketball officials and spectators from across Banaadir Region, with both teams putting up a competitive display before Dekadaha emerged as champions.

Speaker of Somalia’s Federal Parliament, Abdulqadir Mohamed Nur Jama, attended the final and congratulated Dekadaha on their victory while praising Heegan for finishing runners-up.

Jama presented the tournament trophy to the Dekadaha team and awarded medals to players from both sides.

He also highlighted the role of sport in promoting social interaction, peace and unity while encouraging greater youth participation in sporting activities.

The final was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports, members of parliament, the manager of Mogadishu Port, security officials and representatives from different sections of Somalia’s sporting community.
