East African bloc urges caution, vigilance in flood-hit Djibouti

ADDIS ABABA: Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD Chief Workneh Gebeyehu has expressed solidarity with Djibouti, which was afflicted with flash floods, calling for caution and vigilance.
Gebeyehu underlined the importance of adhering to safety measures and disaster preparedness protocols to mitigate further damage and ensure the well-being of citizens.
He also reiterated IGAD’s commitment to supporting its member states in fostering a more resilient future for all and called for proactive collaboration to implement sustainable solutions.
Flash floods caused by heavy rains have caused mutiple casualties and severe property damage in Djibouti in recent weeks.
