Education Minister Chairs Key Forum Over Teachers Recruitment, Training

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Government of Somalia’s Education Minister Farah Sheikh Abduqadir Tuesday chaired a meeting attended by both Federal and State level education authorities in Mogadishu.

The meeting was convened to discuss the scheduled teachers recruitment exercise and training curriculum as part of president Mohamud’s administration’s plans to enhance the quality of education in the country.

The ministry recently announced plans to hire 3000 new teachers in its second recruitment drive aligning to the government’s broader vision to revitalize and elevate Somalia’s educational system, laying the groundwork for a more knowledgeable and skilled labor force.

The recruitment of the 3000 teachers according to the ministry is meant to address shortage, improve teacher to student ratio and quality of learning.

The federal government also seeks to fill education gaps in areas recently liberated from the Al-Shabaab militants and improve access to learning in all parts of the country.
