Egypt’s Sisi Reiterates Commitment to Security, Stability of Somalia

GOOBJOOG NEWS | CAIRO: Egyptian President Abdel Fattag al Sisi has stated that his country is fully committed to support Somalia’s security efforts and stressed the need to respect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Speaking on phone with the federal government of Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Sisi commended the federal government for the various initiatives it has taken to stabilize and develop Somalia and improve the lives of its citizens.

The two presidents further discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and enhance existing collaboration between the two countries in various sectors such as economy, cultural, religious, security among others.

Further, the two leaders discussed the situation in the Horn of Africa where they emphasized their commitment to ensuring the security and stability of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden region.

They reiterated the need for unilateral action in maintaining the stability of the region and emphasized the need for all regional states’ commitment to the frameworks of cooperation to achieve stability and development for their peoples.
