Ethiopia Signs New Deal with Jubbaland

Ethiopian Prime Minister Heila Mariam Desileg has signed a new agreement with Jubbaland president Ahmed Mohamed Islam who is on official visit to Addis Ababa.

In the agreement Ethiopia would give Jubbaland scholarships of 160 students annualy , would train Jubbaland civil servents and security forces.

The agreement also includes a joint major offensive against Alshabab in the Jubba valley at the end of July this year.

Though Jubbaland is a federal unit within the federal government of Somalia, it often deals with the neighboring countries as a seperate intity without the involvement of the federal government.
