Expectant woman killed in clan feuds in Kahan-dhaalle, Galgadud

GOOBJOOG NEWS/GALGADUD: Reports from Kahan-dhaalle area of ​​Galgadud region in Galmudug state say that an expectant woman was killed this morning while tending to her livestock.

According to the residents of Kahan-dhaalle, the woman was accosted by members of a clan militia who shot and killed her on the spot.

The deceased, a pastoralist, was identified as Hodan Abdi Jama. Another woman, also a pastoralist, was reportedly shot by the same assailants and is currently nursing injuries.

The killing of Hodan Jama is said to be based on clan feuds,  with officials and elders from Gelinsor town calling on the relevant authorities, including the Galmudud administration to intervene and bring the clan attacks to an end, warning that if necessary measures are not taken, the situation might spiral out of control.

Just last month, 6 people were killed while several others were injured after fighting broke out between two sub-clans in Kahan-dhaale area of ​​Galgadud region, Galmudug State.
