FACE OFF: Roble fires own team in Dispute Committee after Qoorqoor’s ‘win’ in okaying Farey’s election
GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Prime Minister Mohamed Roble has sacked seven of his appointees to the Dispute Resolution Committee including the chairman Hussein Mohamud after they failed to block the approval of the election of acting spy chief Yasin Farey, a close ally of outgoing President Mohamed Farmaajo, Goobjoog News can authoritatively reveal.
Sources privy to the Saturday morning removal of the seven have intimated to Goobjoog News that Roble decided after he was levelled up by Galmudug president Ahmed Qoorqoor and Villa Somalia in ensuring that Farey was retained despite widespread grievances by the subclan which the seat belongs.
The seven, a source told Goobjoog News did not ‘do much’ to ensure Farey is not cleared. The sacked members also failed to speak out against the decision by the 21 member dispute resolution committee, sources added.
Roble, according to sources close to him had pushed for the blocking of Farey and even went ahead to mobilise some Federal Member State leaders to instruct their appointees to the Committee to vote against Farey’s election but a joint offensive by Qoorqoor and Villa Somalia dealt a blow to his bid.
To forestall another similar scenario, Roble replaced the sacked committee members with another team of seven whom he deems loyal to him.
The following is the list of members sacked by Roble today:
- Hussein Laki Mohamud
- Ahmed Sa’id Samatar
- Mohamed Farah Hersi
- Nimo Ahmed Abdi
- Ali Mohamud Seeko
- Abdirahman Mohamed Ali
- Mohamed Iise Heybe.
They were replaced by:
- Ismail Mohamed Ahmed
- Fardowsa Mataan Buule
- Ayanle Ahmed Abdulle
- Bashir Ahmed Yusuf
- Hassan Ahmed Dhihisow
- Ahmed Barre Mohamed
