Federal Lawmakers term ‘unlawful’ to the decision by the ministry of interior on Galmudug elections

Federal members of parliament from Galmudug regions have reacted to the late press statement by the ministry of interior and reconciliation of the federal government of Somalia calling Galmudug leaders to hold the elections on time.

Lawmaker Saabir Shuuriye whose local council election is Galmudug has termed unlawful to the statement issued by the interior ministry of the federal government in connection with the elections of Galmudug state.

Speaking to Goobjoog News, the lawmaker said: “It is a decision not even in the constitution of the federal government and Galmudug, but it’s an arrangement to divide the community of Galmudug.

MP Mahad Salat who also posted a response article on his facebook by emphasising that the state leaders will maintain their powers as granted until the draft constitution is completed.

These reactions of the lawmakers come after the interior ministry affairs and reconciliation of the federal government of Somalia has released a press statement late last night by calling Galmudug leaders to hold their elections on time.
