GOOBJOOG NEWS|DHUSAMAREEB: Former Galmudug security minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi has slammed Galmudug president Ahmed Qoor Qoor for choosing a war-path in the fight against the Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a group.

While speaking at a press conference in Mogadishu on Sunday, Fiqi saiId that Ahlu-Sunna leaders reached out to him as minister of security ready for talks with the Galmudug administration but were shut out by Qoor Qoor.

Fiqi further accused Qoor Qoor for playing second fiddle at The Villa Somalia leaving his people at the mercy of the Al-Shabaab militia. He said Al-Shabaab and ASWJ seized 17 military vehicles in Amara and Bohol while Qoor Qoor was working from Mogadishu instead of operating from the ground.

The former minister said Ahlu Sunna leaders were not ready for war with the administration, but were instead willing to cooperate with Galmudug in the fight against Al-Shabaab.

“I tried to persuade him to refrain from fighting Ahlu Sunna, but he insisted on fighting them and said they were worse than Al-Shabaab and went to Dhusamareb to attack Ahlu Sunna, ”said Ahmed Fiqi.

Fiqi alleged that Qoor Qoor took the path of war so as to create conflict and war in Galmudug which would lead to election delays, an act that saw him resigning but added that he was open for dialogue.
