Former DC survives grenade attack in Barawe

GOOBJOOG NEWS|BARAWE: Former Barawe district commissioner Omar Sheikh Abdi Shafana survived an attack on his life last night in South West state of Somalia after an assailant hurled a grenade at the front door of his residence.

Shafana told the media that he and his bodyguards who were present at the time of the attack escaped unhurt, adding that no damage was caused to his property.

The former administrator said that security forces are pursuing the man behind last night’s attack who is reported to have fled the scene immediately after the attack.
