Galmudug elects four lawmakers

GOOBJOOG NEWS/DHUSAMAREB: The election of four Parliamentary seats in the House of the People of the Federal Parliament has been concluded in Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug State.

The first seat, HOP 139 seat, was won by the son of Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a spiritual leader, Abdisamed Moalim Mohamud. 101 delegates voted for him by show of hands following the withdrawal of his rival contender, Hassan Hamdi Ali Shire, from the race.

The second seat, HOP 049, was won by the sitting MP, Mustaf Sheikh Ali Duhulow after garnering 68 votes. Duhulow beat 3 other contestants namely: Abdullahi Abdi Gutale, Jamilo Ali Haile and Abdinur Isse Hirey.

Hassan Mohamed Nur,  a former deputy governor of Benadir region, won seat HOP 051 after receiving 81 votes, while his rival, Mohamed Gedi Awale, received 14 votes.

The fourth seat, HOP 61, was won by Dayah Ahmed Omar who was voted for by all 101 delegates after his rival, Abdulkadir Abukar Abdi withdrew from the race.
