Galmudug says ready to start L. House elections

GOOBJOOG NEWS|DHUSAMAREB: Galmudug state President Ahmed Qoorqoor announced that his administration was ready to hold elections for the first five Lower House seats.

The announcement from Qoorqoor came during a dinner party for Prime Minister Mohamed Roble who has been in the region for the last three days.

“On behalf of the Galmudug Government, we are ready to hold the election for five members of the Lower house tomorrow. We are waiting for the Electoral Commission to expedite the Lower House elections,” said Qoorqoor.

The Galmudug leader further directed the regional election commission to start gathering the five tribal elders together today to announce the candidates, adding that the five seats are already marked with the process not expected to take more than three days.

Galmudug was the last Federal Member State to complete the Senate elections on November 13.
