Galmudug state MP, Councillor killed as they visited newly liberated area

GOOBJOOG NEWS|GALGADUD: A regional MP and a district council leader were killed in an IED attack as they headed to the newly liberated town of El-Garas on Monday.

Local MPs who spoke to the media confirmed that Mohamed Mohamud, a member of parliament in Galmudug state and Abdullahi Ibrahim, a councillor in Dhusamareb district were among those killed in the explosion.

Their security personnel were also reportedly killed after the vehicle they were travelling in ran into an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
