Galmug teachers and students attend the funeral of a former teacher

All the schools of Galmudug state in Central Somalia particularly the schools in Southern Galkayo are not attending classes as the students and the teachers are participating in the funeral of a famous former teacher and businessman Adan Ali Noor who was murdered in Galkayo.

Unknown assailants armed with pistols killed the teacher in Garsoor neighbourhood and immediately escaped from the scene.

The late teacher was a teacher and a pioneer of many educational institutions in Galmudug areas.

Galmudug education minister Abdikadir Mohamed Dhalodhalo speaking to Goobjoog FM said all the institution in the region will be free today to prove solidarity and show concern of the increasing killings and attacks against intellectuals.

He urged the security forces to immediately bring to justice the perpetrators.

May 2014 gunmen killed a Kenyan teacher inside institution building and immediately escaped, no one was arrested in connection of the murder.
