Gorgor kills 25 Al-Shabaab fighters, wounds 35 in Afgoye operation

GOOBJOOG NEWS/BAIDOA: Al-Shabab suffered a loss of 25 militants on Sunday after SNA’s Gorgor Commandos laid an ambush on the group’s hideouts in Mubarak area of ​​Afgoye district in Lower Shabelle region.

Gorgor military officials put the figures of those felled by the bullet at 25, while those wounded at 35, although no independent report has been issued regarding the claim. 

The officials also said that the Commandos had killed one of the group’s ring leaders, identified as Fidow, who was the head of security in Mubarak area of ​​Shabelle region.

SNA officials said that the operation to flush out the militants from their hideouts is still ongoing, adding that the process to liberate the Lower Shabelle region from Al-Shabaab would not cease until the group’s last cell is obliterated.
