Gunmen kill Puntland official in Galkayo

GOOBJOOG NEWS|GALKAYO: A finance officer who worked for the Puntland Ministry of Finance is said to have been killed in the city of Galkayo last night.

According to witness reports, the late Abdirahman Mohamed Abdi was shot in the Gaasir neighborhood of Galkayo by unidentified assailants who immediately fled the scene after committing the heinous act.

The deceased, who until his death worked as tax officer at the Puntland Ministry of Finance, is said to have met his end as he came out of a mosque called Salahu-Din in Gaasir, Galkayo.

Intelligence officers who spoke to local media confirmed the incident, saying no one has yet been arrested in connection with the incident, but that investigations to bring the culprits into book were ongoing.
