GOOBJOOG NEWS|DHUSAMAREB: Galmudug authorities have announced that calm has finally been restored in Galgadud area following a spate of bloody attacks between two feuding clans that began on Saturday and left a trail of deaths and injuries.

Galmudug Interior Minister Abdi Mohamed Jama, said the two communities have agreed to silence their guns and engage in negotiations to resolve the hostilities that have threatened to shake the stability of the entire region.

The peace deal comes nearly a week after fighting over a water well and grazing pasture broke out in territories under the jurisdiction of the Adado and Abudwak Districts, resulting in at least 20 deaths.

A coordinated security response between Galmudug and SNA soldiers helped quell the fighting that was quickly getting out of control, according to Galmudug Minister of Information, Ahmed Falagle.

The interior minister also disclosed that Galmudug will organize a reconciliatory meeting between the two communities on the ninth of this month in the central Somali city of Dhusamareb.
