Isku-Shuban Administration given details massive blaze that consumed tens farms

Local authority of Isku-Shuban has commented on the massive blaze that consumed 25 farms earlier this week in Bari region.

The mayor of Isku-Shuban town, Mohamed Ismail Essa said that the fire which destroyed farms has left almost three hundred families poor.

Mohamed said that the police have arrested one person connected with the case and the investigations are underway.

“Nearly 6600 trees planted in the large tracts of agricultural land have been destroyed and we arrested a farmer in connection with the damaging blaze,” said Isku-shuban mayor.

Puntland government and international agencies have been notified of the adverse effect of palm-fire.

Residents are dependent on agricultural products, mainly fruits of date palms.
