Kenya Arrests Somali Nationals Crossing the Border
Kenyan security forces are reportedly detained some 32 Somali nationals who illegally crossed the border to Kenya, according to officials.
These people were riding on a truck loaded with charcoals which was also illegally crossing to Kenya through the porous border line, but were only arrested while they are in the town of Mwingi, some 170km from Nairobi.
Shem Nyamboki is the head of criminal investigation department in Mwingi, he says they also arrested the traffickers and owners of the truck ferrying the Somali nationals. He said they would appear before court of law to answer charges of illegal stay in Kenya.
Such incidents are a common occurrence in Kenya where hundreds of thousands of Somali refugees live there, mostly restricted to refugee camps.
