Kenya Defense Forces Chief Dies in Military Air Crash in Western Kenya

GOOBJOOG NEWS | NAIROBI: Kenya Defense Forces Chief of Staff General Francis Ogola has died after a military aircraft he was in crashed in Kenya’s North-Rift County of Elgeyo-Marakwet.

Also killed in the crash that occurred when the Kenya Defense Forces helicopter crashed shortly after takeoff on Thursday afternoon, are seven top Kenyan military officers.

One officer survived the crash and was airlifted to Nairobi for treatment.  

Kenya’s president William Ruto convened an urgent National Security Council meeting at State House Nairobi on Thursday evening following the crash.
